The San Antonio Association of Hispanic Journalists awarded $40,000 in scholarships among 14 students attending college in the local region this academic year.
SAAHJ is dedicated to helping Latinos and young professionals of all backgrounds pursue careers in journalism and other communications professions. Every year, the association helps advance these endeavors by awarding tens of thousands of dollars in scholarships — more than $250,000 during its more-than-30-year history — to deserving students and by recognizing those scholars during its annual scholarship gala.
Thanks to a partnership with the San Antonio Area Foundation, the SAAHJ has an online scholarship application system, making its scholarship program more accessible.
