About SAAHJ Teen Team
The San Antonio Association of Hispanic Journalists (SAAHJ) is proud to announce the return of the SAAHJ Teen Team, a mentorship program for San Antonio-area juniors and seniors dedicated to developing the next generation of journalists.
Previously known as the Express-News Teen Team, the program was officially transferred to SAAHJ in 2024 and is now entering its second year.
Starting at the beginning of the school year, the program requires selected students to meet on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. Students will receive lessons from journalism and communications professionals, mentorship opportunities with industry experts, and field trips to local newsrooms and colleges.
We expect to welcome about 15 to 20 students in each cohort.
The first meeting is tentatively scheduled for Sept. 24, and the program will conclude at the end of May 2027.
