Helping Students Pursue journalism as a career

At San Antonio Association of Hispanic Journalists, we provide scholarships for students pursuing careers in communications in San Antonio, Texas and the surrounding areas. We also strive to foster diversity in media and create networking opportunities for Latinx in journalism.

Who We Are

Since 1987, our group has grown and thrived as we increase Hispanic journalists in San Antonio’s newsrooms. Our nonprofit organization has various members including, local journalists, public relations practitioners, media students, and individuals interested in the communications industry.

Scholarships

We have awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships to various students in the area. Over the years, dozens of students have successfully established their journalism and communications careers under our scholarship program.

Sponsorships and Partners

Our group can sponsor film screenings, mixers, lectures, and fashion events. As for other professional groups, we have partnered with organizations such as the Society of Professional Journalists, San Antonio Association of Black Journalists, PRSA, American Marketing Association,  and National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
