Angélica Casas, SAAHJ at-large member / broadcast


Angélica Casas is a senior video journalist at BBC News, traveling throughout Texas and the U.S. to produce, film and edit short news documentaries. A San Antonio native, Casas left in 2015 to pursue a master’s degree at the Graduate School of Journalism at UC Berkeley, where she led the university’s student chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.

After a three-year stint working for the BBC in Washington, DC, the COVID-19 pandemic brought her home. In 2022, Casas was named the Multimedia Journalist of the Year by the White House News Photographers Association for her reporting on the pandemic, immigration and race relations.
