Laura Garcia is the afternoon/evening news editor at The Texas Tribune. Garcia also serves as the Region 8 Coordinator of the Society of Professional Journalists. A South Texas native, she has roots in Cotulla.
Garcia previously worked as a business health care reporter at the San Antonio Express-News and has bylines at the Victoria Advocate, The Roanoke Times, Corpus Christi Caller-Times and the Longview News-Journal. Garcia graduated from San Antonio College, where she was editor of The Ranger, and received a bachelors degree from Texas State University-San Marcos.
Garcia is a former SAAHJ president and scholarship recipient.
