Members, please give a warm welcome to Margaret Garcia, who was elected secretary in our special election.
In our regular meeting on Saturday, March 20, election results were certified, making Margaret our next secretary. She replaces Jeannette Garcia who recently was elected vice president of SAAHJ.
Margaret is a longtime SAAHJ member and is the director of the Office of Communication and Brand Marketing at the University of the Incarnate Word since 2008.
Margaret holds a bachelor of journalism from the University of Texas at Austin and has extensive experience in broadcast journalism, marketing and communications.
As a media and public relations professional, she has worked with federal and regional agencies, leading businesses and education institutions at every level.
With Margaret’s addition, the SAAHJ board is now complete. Thanks to everyone that participated in our last three special elections!
